The Interim Inspector-General of Live Animal Exports, Mr Ross Carter, is conducting a review to examine the effectiveness and efficiency of the department’s requirements for, and management of, monitoring and reporting during livestock export voyages by sea.

“Through this review I will examine the efficacy of on-board monitoring and reporting in assessing compliance with legislation, standards and managing risks to animal welfare during voyages and I will also identify what, if any improvements, should be made to the current arrangements”, Mr Carter said.

To assist with this review, Mr Carter is seeking submissions from those involved or interested in livestock exports by sea on their views regarding the effectiveness and efficiency of monitoring and reporting.
